✨ When Strength Comes From Heaven: A Devotional
There are seasons when life presses so hard against the body and the spirit that it feels impossible to keep going. Illness, financial strain, paperwork battles, and the weight of facing it all alone can make even the smallest task feel overwhelming. Yet even in those moments, God proves Himself faithful.
This year, I found myself fighting on multiple fronts — not only against chronic leukemia, daily oral chemotherapy, diabetes, and weakened lungs, but also against a system that repeatedly mishandled my income and reduced the benefits I depend on. I submitted the correct information again and again, only to be met with errors, delays, and confusion. Every correction I sent seemed to disappear without a trace.
There were days when the fatigue from treatment made it hard to stand, let alone advocate for myself. But God, in His mercy, gave me strength I did not have on my own. He carried me through every phone call, every upload, every email, every in person walk ins with the help of my brother, and every moment when I wanted to give up. He reminded me that I was not fighting alone.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
And then, in His perfect timing, God opened a door I had been praying for: subsidized housing. After years of paying nearly all my income toward rent, He making a way for me to move into a home that is safe, affordable, and prepared specifically for my needs. My oncologist connected me with a social worker who became an advocate on my behalf. I saw the apartment — a place being made ready for me — and my heart whispered, To God be the glory.
Even in the struggle, God is working. Even in the fatigue, He is strengthening. Even in the confusion, He is guiding. And even when I felt unseen by people, I was never unseen by Him.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14
God does not always remove the battle, but He never leaves us to fight it alone. He steps into the places where our strength ends and fills the gap with His own. He sends help, opens doors, and prepares blessings long before we see them.
Today, I stand in gratitude — not because everything is easy, but because God has been faithful in everything hard. My story is not just about paperwork or housing or health challenges. It is about a God who sustains, provides, and lifts His children when they cannot lift themselves.
“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” — Isaiah 40:31
If you are walking through a season that feels too heavy, remember this: The same God who carrying me will carry you. He is present in every detail, working behind every closed door, and strengthening you in ways you may not even see yet.
To God be the glory — for every step, every breath, every breakthrough, and every new beginning. GOD IS MY ALL AND ALL.
