Who Are You Really?
Have you ever come to a place in your life where confusion is taken over your mindset to the point you start questioning your own identity? If not let me be the one to say there should be a point in everyone's life that an evaluation of oneself should take place. Not only of one's character, but what brought you to the point of where you are right now whether it be rich, or poor, old are young, sick or well, black or white, red or brown, Republican, or Democrat, Methodist or Baptist, Catholic, Islamic, Preacher, Minister, Deacon, Evangelist, Teacher, President, Scientist, African, European, American, Native American, African-American, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Jews, or Gentile.
All within itself is the way we have come to identified ourselves either by trade, vocation, or education we identified as doctors, lawyers, officers, soldiers, nurses, executives, CEO, Chief, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Kings or Queens I can go on and on, but the question is Who Are You Really? Let's make sure that you understand that all I have named is titles. We have come to the point that our titles has become our identification and race in the past, and now is a form of rank in the earthly realm. You're measured among humanity and with all of us this has come as a normal thing to do which outta not be so.
Some may be identified as to who their parents are, such as - son of Mary, not to say this is wrong but when it comes to the final say who will you be identified as? And do it matters to you who Identifies you? Will you be wrongly identified among humanity or rightly identified by God? Have you mistakenly or falsely identified yourself? A state of confusion can have you not know who you really are. As you continue reading you should come to the understanding that humanity in his unregenerate sin nature are deceive either by his own sin nature, or by Satan the Master of Deception, or both combine, and this causes obscure vision and confusion to who you really are. There is a serious lesson that shows us that misused and abuse of Power Reaps Corruption. Let's go to The Word of God, and look at Eli The Priest sons who were going through what would be consider an Identity crisis. Who are you really? In (1 Samuel 2:12 chap. 4) The Sons of Eli in whom he raise up as Priest are not no longer identified as the sons of Eli, neither are they identified as Priest. Their corruption became so great until it affected the family in whole, and the congregation. They became identified as The Sons of Belial. Belial means - (worthlessness, wickedness) and that the sons of Belial is an expression meaning vile scoundrels or ungodly men for they have become corrupted.
According to the Word the sons of Eli would hijack the offerings of The Lords by force if refused, and kept the best for themselves. They laid with the women that assembled at the door of tabernacle of the congregation. Their wickedness cause the people to transgress against The Lord. Eli did in fact address his son's actions, and said to them it is one thing for man to sin against another the judge shall judge him, but if a man sin against The Lord than who should entreat for him? But they obey not. Evidently Eli was not firm enough.
Their names separately where Hophni. and Phinehas. Hophni names means - (Heb. Hophen, hollow of hand and in Arab Handful) well he surely kept his hands full of The Lord's sacrifice for himself and the women. Phinehas name means in Egyptian, (The Nubian, bronze one) Eli named him after Aaron grandson son of Eleazer who name his son also Phinehas who terminated a plague of judgment against Israel by running a spear through the Midianite women and the Israelite who were in the act of committing idolatry and the impurities of the sin which brought a judgment against Israel.
They were led by the Midianite women to sin against God in Shittim. Surely this name did not fit Eli son due to the honor it represented which was not in his character. The Lord sent a man of God to Eli to remind him how The Lord set apart his tribal family out of all the tribes to tend the sacrifice, and burn incense at the altar, and to bring all the offerings unto The Lord, but yet you kick at my sacrifice and my offerings in my habitation that I have commanded, and honour thy sons above me by making yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people.
I mean right in God's house where He dwells in other words right in The Lord's face. So The Lord pronounce judgement upon the house of Eli and convey that there shall not be an old man in his household, and all the increase shall die in the flowering of their age and thy two sons will die in the same day. This was also confirmed by Samuel when he was just a little boy under the mentorship of Eli. The Lord explain to Samuel why he will judge Eli house forever because they made themselves vile before Lord, and Eli restrained them not. In Chap. 4 you will find that Israel went to war against the Philistine. Hophni and Phinehas was carrying the Ark of the Covenant and Israel lost that battle to a great slaughter of thirty thousand footmen, and the Ark taken while the two sons of Eli were slain.
The wife of Phinehas was with child when she heard the news and went into labor and die given birth. Before death she name the child Ichabod saying because The Glory has departed from Israel, and the ark of God was taken because of her father in-law and her husband. Eli sons walk in the mistaken identity. They masqueraded as Priest. Their outrageous conduct, and immoral acts spreaded leading the people of Israel to sin against God in the House of God which lead to their defeat in the battle against the Philistines with the lost of the Ark of The Covenant.
Holiness could no longer remain among the impurities of The Priest who defiled themselves. This made them no longer worthy of the office of the Priest so they earned this title Sons of Belial. Samuel raised under Eli since the time he was wean to become one of God's Prophets and a judge over Israel all the days of his life (1 Samuel 7: 15) you will find that though Samuel remain obedient to God when he became old he appointed his sons as judges over Israel. One name Joel meaning – (Jehovah is God) and the other name was Abiah meaning – (Jehovah is a father) The Corrupted Judges, neither one walk in The Obedience of God nor the identity appointed unto them.
Puppet Masters Hand Pulling The Strings of Corruption
The word in (Samuel 8:2) says that they turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, perverting judgment so similar to Eli sons they also reap corruption. This emphasizes how the sin transferred in the household of Eli even though Samuel was not of the tribe of Levites but raise under their tutorship. The Corrupt Spirit pass on to Samuel sons this led The Nation of Israel to demand a king over them like the other nations around them, and by doing so they rejected God not Samuel, but God. This led to the first king of the flesh nature appointed over Israel.
The people cried out for a king so God granted them their request, but detail what manner of king that will be over them in (1 Samuel 8:10-18) Before they were given Saul as King, God warned them of the king that will lead them, but they still refused to obey the voice of Samuel while rejecting God. I reference King Saul actions later on that led the nation to rebel against God and to continue on a path of idolatry. There is a realm of Good, and Evil. There is a balance and a false balance of life, there is a crooked path and straight path.
Proverbs 11:1 - A false balance is an abomination to The Lord, but a just weight is His delight. The Lord had giving some prime examples of mankind's sin nature throughout the Bible. He inspired His appointed and chosen ones to write about it. Here are some more examples to show that even under the directions and instructions God has giving to and through His Prophets, Priest, ministers, Judges, and Kings all at one time or another have been through some type of identity crisis enhance by demonic influence that even their actions through history demonstrates the most desperate need for our God to leave His throne and wrap Himself up in flesh and became that ultimate sacrifice to atone for the sins of humanity.
Since the sins of King David has already been addressed in one of my devotionals title (God Is Faithful Even When We Are Not). King David's repentance in his heart towards The Lord is detailed in Psalm 51, where it shows how he came to be labeled by God as a man after God's own heart. I will continue with his Son Solomon - name meaning Peaceful.
The Word says Solomon love The Lord and walk in the statues of David his father even when asked by God in a dream what he shall give Solomon? Solomon ask for an understanding heart to judge the people so that he can be able to discern between good and bad.
This answer pleases The Lord, so not only did He granted Solomon The Heart of Wisdom so that there will be no one as wise as he before or after him as King, but he also receive what He did not ask for, which was riches and honor so that there will be none among the kings like him in all his days (1 Kings 3:5-14) This was a good thing. The key point that stands out in Solomon request was that he ask for the wisdom to judge between the people he rule over so he can discern between good and bad among them, but not the understanding to discern good and bad for himself so it's granted.
The choices concerning himself was sometimes off the richter scale as his father King David practice the sin of polygamy so did Solomon, and he took it a giant step further. Solomon took up a collection of women like a box of assorted candies not knowing which to choose so it looks as though he try to grab it all. He had 700 wives and 300 concubines even after The Lord said not to go into the women of these nation. Solomon not only married Pharaoh King of Egypt daughter he also married or made concubines from the women of The Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and the Hittites.
The Lord said not to do so, for these women will turn his heart away from God to there gods. Deuteronomy (7:1-4) This commandment was giving to all Israel by God to not go into them and neither shall they come into you for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods. (1 Kings 11:1-15) The Word says Solomon clave unto these in love. Let's really look at this from God's point of view in (Genesis 2:23-24) the first covenant of marriage is between man and woman. In this union Adam proclaim bone of my bone flesh of my flesh so she be called woman and for this reason man will leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife and they become as one.
The word cleave has two meanings, one means to split or sever something while the other means to cling or stick to someone like glue. The second meaning is where the word is pointing, describing Solomon as becoming as one with many women. 1 Corinthians (6:18) He takes on all the spirits of these women for he has sinned against his own body. his temple meaning his body has become crowded with these spirits they have become as one. Talking about identity crisis. The Word said when Solomon was old that his wives turned away his heart after other gods. For he went after Ashtoreth The Goddess of The Zidonians.
This is the name of the supreme goddess of Canaan and the female counterpart of Baal, also the Zidonians / Sidonians are brethren of the Canaanites they are descendants of Sidon son of Canaan Ham son. And he went after Milcom The Abomination of the Ammonites also known as Molech:
This cult practice sacrificing their children to this demon deity as burnt offerings, and it was call having their children pass through the fire. He also built high places to this deity. Solomon also built high places for Chemosh, The Abomination of Moab.
1 Kings (11:11). The Lord said unto Solomon because you have done this thing and not kept my commandments, He shall Surely rend the kingdom from Solomon and give it to his servant, but not while he is still king, for David his father sake for this will take place when his son Rehoboam reign. You will find that like a contagious disease the sins of the father manifested through generations. Solomon's action has led the nation to continue the sins of idolatry, and greed increasing the demonic activity that leads to even more ruthless kings that eventually causes the kingdom to split during his son's reign into two nations one being Judah and the other Israel. Solomon servant name was Nabat, and his son Jeroboam will become king of Israel while Rehoboam remain King of Judah.
God will give ten tribes unto him, and if he keep all the commandments and walk in the ways of The Lord as his servant did then God will be with him. This got back to Solomon so he sought to kill Jeroboam so Jeroboam fled into Egypt. Solomon died, and Jeroboam return to Israel he was summon for by the Israelites to go before the King Rehoboam about the unfairness that his father Solomon imposed upon them one being heavy taxation that supported Solomon splendor during his reign.

Rehoboam and Jeroboam
Faceoff
Rehoboam ask for three days to consider their request. He sought first the elders that stood before Solomon who recommend him to heed to the people's request for if he serve his people in return they will serve you, but he forsook their counsel then went to the younger men that grew up with him who unwise counsel cater to the ego of the King, so he said to the people as the unwise peers quote unto him “My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins,” my father chastised you with a whips, but I shall chastise you with scorpions.
This answer provoked a revolt against the King so it led to ten of the tribes to renounce their allegiance to Rehoboam so now there became two kingdoms one being Israel, and the other Judah, where as Jeroboam becomes appointed as king over Israel. Rehoboam assemble all the house of Judah and the tribe of Benjamin along with one hundred and eighty thousand chosen men who were warriors together to go up against Israel, but The Lord God Almighty intervene sending Shemaiah a man of God to speak unto Rehoboam to not go up against Israel for this is God's doing.
Before all has come to pass just as King Rehoboam follow in the steps of his father this rebellion and idolatrous practice began to pass on down through both kingdoms of Judah and Israel for even though Jeroboam appointed by God as King over ten of the tribes, out of fear he led Israel into idolatry which put them back into the same abomination that had The Lord rend the Kingdom from the descendants of Solomon. The Word of God says even though the kingdoms were split the tribes continue to come into Jerusalem to the temple to worship.
Do this sound familiar? A double dose of the idolatry the exact action of their ancestors in the wilderness, he even appointed his own priest not ones of the tribe of Levi. The Word says of the lowest of people, and he quoted the exact phrase - It's too much for you to go up to Jerusalem (1 Kings 12:28) “Behold here's thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee out of Egypt” this is the exact phrase in (Exodus 32:4).
There has been three kings that reign over Israel all together until the nation separated, and then 20 reign over Judah (South Israelite Nation) and 19 over Israel (North Israelite Nation) this happen before Samaria destruction by the Assyrians and then Jerusalem by the Babylonians. 42 Kings in all together that reign on the throne of the Kings of both Israel and Judah. Only 4 that reign were obedient unto God and they were over Judah.
None of the kings of Israel were obedient along with most of the ones over Judah they continue in the abomination practicing, and worshiping to other gods of other nations. Reaping corruption that leads Our God to use their enemies the Assyrians to destroy the Kingdom of Israel in Samaria 722 BC., then The Babylonians to destroy Judah in Jerusalem 586 BC. All this Rebellion against The Almighty God we served manifested all types of demonic activities through out Israel and Judah bring The Spirits of Confusion that had Them walking in an false Identity. DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE REALLY!
