He Is Faithful Even When We Are Not

He Is Faithful Even
When We Are Not

When His Children Have Fallen He

Lifts Them Back Up.

Our God is True in His Word and He is truly faithful considering all that we have been through, and all the things we are going through now in our lives, The Lord remains faithful. In spite of our wrongs, In spite of the facts that most of us, if not all at one time or another have turn our backs on The Lord. In spite of our selfishness, In spite of the way we lack in our loyalty toward Him. In spite of us not totally trusting in our Lord, our Father in Heaven remains faithful. There are consequence for mankind actions, but after true repentance our God arms are open to receive us because He remains faithful. All of those who had turned aside, but later returns and came back unto The Lord are in fact True Witnesses on how faithful and true our God is. Take for example The following:

The Apostle Peter - at one time denied Jesus three times when confronted with whether he was in fact a follower of Jesus, whereas Jesus prophesied unto Peter beforehand when Peter proclaimed his allegiance unto Jesus. Matt (26:34 - Matt 26:69-75) Luke (22:54-62) John (18:15-27) but later return and became one of The Great Apostles who is also the author of the books of 1 Peter, and 2 Peter in the New Testament.

Jonah - one of God’s Prophet - In his disobedience refuse to carry out The Lord's instructions for him to cry out against Nineveh and preach to them to change from their wickedness, but instead Jonah tried to hide from the Lord when he fled to Joppa, and boarded a ship that was going to Tarshish, then went down to the bottom of that ship in order to hide from God's presence. Now this is a good sign of insanity. Jonah had to be mentally unstable to believe that he can hide from the Omnipresence of The Lord for our God is present at all times in every part and time in His universe Jonah was double minded. In James (1:8) It states a double minded man is unstable. Jonah end up later in the belly of a great fish after requesting to be toss overboard when confronted about the disturbance that The Lord Our God cause toward the ship he was on by the waves of the seas whereas to everyone on that ship would have perished.

Jonah was in the belly of a fish for three days and three nights during this time. Jonah prayed and cries out to the Lord. Jonah reference this ordeal as to being in Hell. This Symbolizing, and is the foreshadowing of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Matt 12: 38-40) For when the Scribes and the Pharisees ask Jesus for a sign. Jesus said - there will be no sign but the sign of Jonah, For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (This is also a symbol of rebirth of Jonah in the womb preparing to be reborn again).

Jonah came to repentance, so after this ordeal, through God’s Grace and Mercy The Lord had the fish to vomit Jonah (Push Jonah out) out of his belly upon the dry land, then The Lord used Jonah to carry out what He had instructed Jonah to do from the beginning. After receiving the message from Jonah, Nineveh’s King repented and covered himself in sackcloth, and sat in ashes, and issue a decree then had the whole city that he reign over to cover themselves in sackcloth, and to sit in ashes both man and beast, and I shall repeat again man and Beast. Just imagine yourself traveling through Nineveh during those times, and as your journey continues you happen to come across a field of cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys and every beast as far as you can see, and every beast you see is covered in sackcloth sitting in ashes even the shepherds and all of the people you came across during your travel through Nineveh. What a sight to see.

This King reference true fear through his repentance to The Lord, and worship. Whenever you order a decree that even the animals fast also and you order the people to have the animals put on sackcloth then lay in ashes you truly are serious. As you come to study the Word of God you'll find that in most cases when God passes judgment on a city it usually includes the destruction of the whole city, and everyone in it from children to the live stock (cattle) I assume this is why the King had the beast to be put on a fast and sitting in sackcloth. The Lord turn His wrath from Nineveh. But you find that Jonah was still unstable because of his anger towards Nineveh, he really did not want the Lord to forgive that city, nor their king, so Jonah became suicidal out of his own anger, and grief He requested to die because he knew The Lord would forgive them.

Let’s look at chap. (4:2-3) Jonah prays to the Lord and quote I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. Therefore now, O Lord, take, I beseech thee, take my life from me for it is better for me to die than live. What is Jonah saying? To my understanding it seems Jonah rather die than to see the city of  Nineveh receive salvation. The Lord had  prepared a gourd that rose up overnight and it became a cover over Jonah to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceedingly glad for the gourd.

Then the Lord planted a worm in the gourd, and it smote the gourd so that it withered. Then when the sun raised that mourning God prepared a vehement east wind, and the sun  beat upon the head of Jonah so that he fainted and wished himself to die again, and then he said it is better for me to die than to live. You see Jonah was angry because of the Gourd ( a plant) that no longer covered him had died so he was in despair over the loss of the Gourd. Then God ask Jonah does it do well to be angry and Jonah reply yes I do well to be angry until death. The Lord point out to Jonah that he had mercy for the gourd that he only knew for such a short period of time in fact overnight, but yet he had no mercy for a Great city that had more than six score thousand persons which equals 120,000 (in sackcloth and ashes) inhabiting it who could not discern their right hand from their left in other words a people who lack in knowledge.

This exposes Jonah’s unregenerate sin nature even though he was a Prophet Jonah's selfishness reminds us of our selfishness even as Christian in error we become self absorbed in our own agendas that only pleases us. What if God would have granted Jonah”s request to die, even in this it shows God’s Grace and Mercy, and how faithful he is even we are not. You find this story in the book of Jonah. KJV.

King David- David meaning (Beloved) God's anointed and the second king of Israel had committed an abomination unto The Lord by taken for himself another man’s wife and her name was Bathsheba who became pregnant as a result of this action. The husband's name was Uriah he was one of the most dedicated and loyal military officers in David army. Later David had Uriah killed after his attempts to cover up his action failed.  David later came to true repentance after The Prophet Nathan expose David’s sins unto him through a parable that describe a rich man taken away what little one sheep a poor man had. The parable reflected David’s abomination unto The Lord. You will find this in (2 Samuel chapters 11-12. The). David produces a child that was the fruit of his abomination.

The Lord had Nathan pronounce the judgment He shall execute on David and his household and said for this evil thing you have done.  What you have done in secret The Lord will do to him openly for to do this evil you have brought the sword to your own household, and your wives will be given unto your neighbors, David repented. The Lord spare David's life, but afterward The Lord allowed sickness that led to the death of the child David and Bathsheba produce in which Nathan also prophesied unto David the death of the child.

After fasting upon the earth for seven days for his child’s life, on the seventh day the child died. David repented and returned to serving the Lord, but the consequences for his action plagued his house one being David son Absalom who slayed his brother Amnon for the rape of his sister Tamar.

Amnon being Absalom’s half-brother rape his half sister which is Absalom whole sister. Absalom out of anger plotted Amnon execution then later initiated a revolt against his father David. Our Lord’s forgiveness does not forfeit the consequences for our willing and complicit actions in sin, but by Grace and Mercy so David's life was spared. Our Lord accepted David back and continued to use David for His divine purpose. David became known as a man after God's own heart. David is one of the writers in the Old Testament,  he wrote most of the Psalms in the Book of Psalms that consist of songs of praises and worship, and prayers unto God.

Moses: The born Hebrew man/Prince of Egypt that God used to deliver His people out of Egypt also the author of the Masonic Law that was given by God through Moses. He wrote the book of Genesis. These Laws are richly illustrated in the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These laws are also demonstrated by The Prophets throughout the bible and The Apostles. The legal part consists of The Ten Commandments which is the fundamental Law of Moses that was given a MT. Sinai. Now Moses himself was denied entrance into the promised land that he was to lead the Israelites / Hebrews to.  Because of his anger he became defiant, so at this particular time Moses went about things his own way instead of doing exactly what God had instructed him to do.

Mosses aloud anger to dictate his actions. When the Israelites cried out for water while they were in the wilderness they began to murmur against Moses and Aaron, so The Lord instructed Moses to gather the congregation together, and bring them to The Rock that God showed Moses. The Lord instructed Moses to speak to The Rock in front of the congregation and by doing so this would bring forth water out of The Rock. This is one of many of God's miracles displayed in front of all the congregation that would exalt and sanctified The Almighty God, for all the Glory belongs to God. (Numbers 20: 8-12)

But Moses out of anger brought the congregation to The Rock and glorify himself by saying unto the Israelites - Hear ye rebels must we (as in himself and Aaron) fetch you water out of this rock, to say this implies that Moses and Aaron are bringing forth the water from The Rock not God, for Our God do not fetch water He spoke it into existence. Moses did neither Glorified nor Sanctified The Lord in front of the congregation for this reason Moses was denied entrance into the Promised Land. (Num. 20:12)

Here’s the Key - (The Lord told Moses to speak to The Rock and it would bring forth water) this action alone (Symbolically represents the pre-incarnate Jesus Our Lord who is known as The Rock of our Salvation) for later in (Deuteronomy 32:1- 4) – The Song of Moses is where Moses himself reference The Lord in song as The Rock for it says- Give ear, O ye heavens, on earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: Because I will publish the name of The Lord. Ascribe ye greatness unto The Lord. He is The Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.

He is also known as The Living Water in- (John 4:10-14) Jesus offers to the Samaritan woman at the well living water that she may thirst no more which He was referencing to Himself Who is The Living water. So Moses was instructed to speak to The Rock instead he hit The Rock in front of the congregation which was an act of disobedience instead of obedience towards The pre-incarnate Jesus The Christ. You will find the confirmation for this in (1 Corinthians 10:1-4) for they drank of that Spiritual Rock that follows them in the wilderness, and That Rock was Christ . Moses through instruction from God continued to usher the Israelites to the land God had promise unto them in spite of the fact that he himself will not be allowed to cross over.

Yet Our God is still faithful for you will find in (Matt. 17:3 and Mark 9:4) at the Mountain of Transfiguration of Jesus where Peter, James and John witness Jesus speaking with Elias and Moses in which within itself confirms that God's faithful servant Moses indeed did make it into the Promised Land in the Kingdom of God. God is still Faithful even when we trip up. These are a few of the reason and examples that shows us why we should always trust in The Lord, for Our Lord remains loyal to His servants. Psalms ( 37:5) says- Commit your ways unto The Lord. Trust in The Lord with all thine heart. And lean, not unto our own understanding: in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.

Trust In The Lord

Job: (13:5) says- Though he slay me yet will I trust in Him, but I will maintain mine own ways before Him. Job was a man who truly trusted in The Lord. Jobs loyalty and commitment was tested for Job response was (I:21) - Naked came I out my mother’s womb and naked shall I return thither, The Lord gave and The Lord hath taken away blessed be the name of The Lord. This response came after his sons and daughters died on the same day, seven sons and three daughters,  he lost his richest and then he was struck with physical afflictions of boils all over his body. Job stated in (14:14) - If a man die shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait till my change comes?

I myself am familiar with lost, on more than one occasion. During those days, times I had lost my Job, my home and almost my life due to illness back in 2004 I lost my sight physical and spiritually, some of my dear relatives and friends have passed on to glory that I have truly missed, but I will see them again. My only biological son has done time in prison for a heinous crime for four years, but only done three of those years he was facing ten years for assault with the attempt to kill. See how faithful our God is even when we trip up he remains merciful, but now he blames me and God for his errors I know in my heart That The Lord will open his eyes one day and use him for His glory.

My physical health challenges continues and through all my adversities I shall trust in The Lord like Job, I too say- All the days of my appointed time will I also wait till my change comes. Since then my sight has been restored physically, and spiritually and my health has improved in those areas, but some adversities remains. And far as my home there is a saying that home is where the heart is. I am so glad my heart is in The Lord for that is where my home is. (Job 5:6-8) Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust neither do trouble spring out of the ground, Yet man is born unto trouble as sparks fly upward. I will seek unto God and Unto God would I commit my cause.

The comfort in knowing He will never leave me nor forsake me gets me through my darkest times in life, for that is a promise and a commitment to us who walk upright in The Lord. (Romans 8:55 -39) Paul says- (Who shall separate us from the love of Christ, shall tribulation or distress or persecution of famine or nakedness, or peril or sword? As it is written for thy sake we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from The love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord).

So stand on His Word, call on His name when you are unsure, and find yourself not feeling that loyalty in which you should have towards The Lord. For He is The Master of Commitment ,and trust, and all things in the universe. Let Him show you what that is and how to maintain it in His True and Living Word.
Hebrews 11.1 Remember Faith Is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. He is Faithful!
