Bread of Life, Breath of Life
Jesus Said To His Disciples
Whom Do Men Say That I
The Son of Man Am?
This title alone is a question that we as Christians should know and be able to answer, some of us still fight with the understanding of who our Lord and Savior Is. We know His name is Jesus, our faith in Him should be so strong until all that we do should line up with The Word of God, and our mind should continually be on Him, but do we truly know who He Is? While I was meditating on this The Holy Spirit brought me to the scriptures of The Gospel according to John, (chp. 1:1,2) and it states In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God.The same was in the beginning with God. Here is where the understanding that The Word of God is God, for it says - The Word was God.
Vs.3 states All things were made by Him and without Him was not any thing made that was made. Reference to Our Creator, For when He spoke His Word the heavens and the earth were created and everything that came to Exist was spoken into Existence. Let’s look at (vs.4) it says - In Him was Life, so I look up the word Life, and it states The Existence of an individual human being or animal. The synonyms for this word are - Existence, being, living, Creation, Animation - which means a State of Being full of life and Viability which means - an ability to survive and live successfully.
The Life was The Light of men, (vs. 5) (KJV) And The Light shineth in darkness: and the darkness comprehended it not. Now what does this mean? Then I read in John (8:12). Jesus says: I Am The Light of the world he that follow me shall not walk in darkness but shall have The Light of Life. So I look up Light Because The word states that Jesus is the Light so this meaning saids - It is the natural agent that stimulates sight, and make things visible. The synonyms are - illumination, brightness, luminescence, luminosity, shining, gleam as in gleaming, brilliance, radiance, luster, glowing, glow, blaze, glare, dazzle, sunlight, moonlight, starlight, lamplight, firelight, daylight, daytime, dawn, morning, day, daybreak, sunrise, sunlight. Bottom line He is all Light and there is no darkness in Him.
As you can see Jesus tells us that He is The Light, The Light of the world. Let’s look at Genesis (1:2) where it says darkness was upon the face of the deep which is the waters, and God move upon the face of the deep and brings Light for God Is Light (vs3) God said Let there be Light so Jesus IS The Light and everything that was made was made by Him, so God The Creator pre-incarnated Jesus The Light eliminated the darkness by speaking Let there be Light into The Dark, and called one part day which came from Him and the other night. Which confirms HE IS Self Existence because He manifested Himself into Darkness creating The Day.
The Light was the Life of man. So Jesus The Light stimulate the sight making things visible to the being, which means the existence of man, (Awakening) which means coming into existence, or Awareness or both combined. We learned we were created and then brought into living existence through The Breath That’s why He Is The Breath Of Life . Genesis 2:7 When He breathe into the dirt and it became a living Soul. Breath means - 1. an Inhalation, or Exhalation of air in and out of the lungs 2. The Power of breathing is Life: Life. synonyms Life, Life source so Jesus is The Breath,He IS The Inhalation and The Exhalation of humanity.
In the beginning of the book of Genesis The sun and The moon, and The Stars were created on the fourth day Genesis (1:14) where He translated from Himself and brought Lights into the heavens that He created. In The book of Revelation (22:5) states that - there will be no more night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun: for The Lord God giveth them Light: and they shall reign forever and ever. We will be in His Glory. This is when God brings in fulness our Eternal Life to His elected, after wiping out all the evil darkness, sin, Satan, and his demons along with Satan followers in the world. After these come to past He will bring in the New Jerusalem. Rev. (22:16) says - I Jesus have sent Mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I Am The Root and The Offspring of David. The Bright and Morning Star. (one hundred percent man flesh)
His origin as an deity is one hundred percent God. If you go back to the early part of this commentary, and look at the synonyms of the word Light since Jesus is The Light you will find the word Bright, Morning, and Starlight. That’s why David describes The Sovereignty of God in Psalms (19:1,2), and It says - The heavens declare the Glory of God and the firmament shows His handy work day unto day uttering speech, night unto night sheweth knowledge, for the Light is His Glory. The world must be full of evil within itself is darkness which is also how the sins of humanity is described in John (3:20) KJV says - For everyone that doeth evil hate The Light neither will come to The Light.
So darkness (evil) comprehended it not, which means- lack in understanding. Darkness represent evil, and The Evil Deeds of humanity as well as The orchestrator of evil, Satan. The Prince of Darkness KJV. Darkness means - partial or total Absence of Light the synonyms are - dark, blackness, gloom, shadow, shade, dusk, twilight, glooming, evil, wickedness, sin, iniquity, immorality, devilry, devil. Darkness is the absence of Light so without Jesus there is no Light you cannot understand something that is not there and cannot abide there for Jesus is The Light and dwell not in darkness (evil). When Jesus The Light shows up darkness disappears. Darkness is some what like death, for Death is The Absence of God
The Gospel according to Luke, Jesus says - The light of the body is the eye, therefore when thine eye is single (your eye on God) the whole body is full of light, but when that eye is evil (double minded trying to serving both God and Satan or just Satan) the body is full of darkness. John (1:6) states - There was a man sent from God whose name was John (vs7) The same for a witness, to bear witness of The Light (vs9) That was the True Light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. Now we’re into another eye opening scripture here. Who have ears to hear, hear what The Spirit is saying to the church, (vs9) and it says The True Light that light every man that cometh into the world.
The first man who came (been formed) into the world was Adam you’ll find this in the book of Genesis (chap. 2) So Jesus was there in the beginning. Jesus is The Light and The Life of man refer to John (1:4). Gen (2:7) says - The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils In Gen. (1:27) tells us that - God created man in His own image, in The Image of God created He him male and female created he them. So now we learned and know according to The Word that God is not made of flesh and blood. Gen (2:7) says- And The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and then breathed into his nostrils The Breath of Life; and man became a living soul.
If you look up the word Am as in I Am you will find that it is a form of be which means Exist. One of its synonyms is breathe, and draw breath. The word Soul means - The Spiritual or Immaterial part of a Human Being or animal regarded as immortal. So our Spirit is of The Image of God, our Internal Being is of God’s Image Let me point out The Breath is what God put into man (Adam) to become living soul, our soul was produce from The Breath of God. Adam’s face to face encounter with God when He was just a shell of dirt crafted, and form into the shape of what is known as man.
Dirt became a living soul when God Exhalation became The Inhalation in the dirt so it became a living being, and then was named Adam. Adam is the Hebrew word for man, Adam name means- red, ruddy and this could be describing the clay Adam was created from. The first Man of Immortality (The ability to live forever) that brought mortality (subject to death) into humanity through His transgression. Sin was brought into mankind in which separated our spirit from God. So we were dead spiritually inside with the sentence of death a expiration date, subject to perish, For The wages of sin is death Romans (6:23)
Until our Lord and Savior Jesus The Christ enter into the world (enter into darkness) for the purpose of our reconciliation with God, in order to revive and reborn what was once decease by giving us The Gift of Eternal life, for The Gift From God is Eternal life. He became the creation He created when He put on flesh in order to pay the price for the sins of humanity, He became sin in order to restore The Breath that made man a living soul. 2 Corinthians (5:21) says - For He had made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made The Righteousness of God in Him.
Now in John (1:10) it says - He was in the world and the world was made by Him. This alone identifies Jesus as The Creator. And the world knew Him not. Let’s go to Colossians (1:12) and it states - Giving thanks unto The Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in Light; Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him, and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.
Jesus (God) is The Word which came into the world, and it articulates the world was made by Him. In Gen (1:1) God made the heavens and the earth, so Jesus is referred to as God, and known to us as the second person in the Trinity - First Supreme being is The Godhead Jehovah, Second The Son became flesh in the person named Jesus, which means Salvation, Third The Holy Spirit refers to as The Comforter that came to live inside of us reconnecting our spirit with God John (14:26). Jesus says - The Comforter which is The Holy Ghost whom the father will send in my name.
All Three Person but One God. John (1:10b). Then it says - The world knew Him not. This is where we can refer back to John (1:5) for it says - darkness comprehended it not. (Which means, they did not understand The Light) you have to get to know Him in order to have some understanding of Him. You also can visualize the world, and the darkness as the same in these verses. So Jesus is The Light and the world is full of darkness, which is the evil deeds of Humanity and Satan known as the Prince of darkness.
John (1:11) says - He came unto His own , and His own received Him not. We learned from the Scriptures that His own are The Israelites, for God formed a covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was later renamed Israel by God. Gen. (32:28) So his own are the descendants of Israel who were called The Hebrews and are know as The Israelites and are The Jewish people. All Jewish / Israelites people are Hebrews due to the genealogy of Eber father of Joktan, and Peleg and the progenitor of The Hebrews Gen. (11:25), but all Hebrews are not Israelites. The Israelites came through the tribe Peleg with Abraham being the progenitor.
John (1:12) But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God even them that believe on His name. This refers to some of the Jewish people as well as The Gentiles. The Gentiles are everyone outside of the genetics of the Israelites. Vs 13. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the flesh, nor of the will of man but of God. God IS already inside of us, but separated by the sin we were born in pass down through Adam, but we can be reunited, and be reborn only through our Lord and Savior Jesus The Christ.
Now here is the golden nugget of it all, for in John (1:14) it says - And The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory, The Glory as of the only begotten of the Father. Begotten means - (Offspring) full of grace and truth. This Scripture proclaims Jesus is God, for in (vs.1) of John it says - The Word was God, so The Word became flesh and His name is Jesus The Christ The word Christ means - Anointed one, and Messiah. Now let this soak in your spirit. In The book of Isaiah (7:14) it says - Therefore The Lord himself shall give a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Matthew (1:23) Immanuel is interpreted as God with us. Isaiah (9:6) says - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah (11:1) states - And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and A Branch shall grow out of his roots and 1. The Spirit of The Lord shall rest upon Him. 2.The Spirit of Wisdom and 2. The Spirit of Understanding,
3.The Spirit of Counsel and 4.The Spirit of Might, 5.The Spirit of Knowledge, and of 6.The Fear of The Lord. (These are the 7, Spirits that are before the throne of God in Rev. (1:4). Isaiah (11:10) says - And in the day there shall be root of Jesse, which shall stand for a ensign of the people: to it shall the Gentiles seek; and His rest shall be glorious. Isaiah (28:16) Therefore thus saith The Lord, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation A Stone, A Tried Stone, A Precious Corner Stone, A Sure Foundation: he that believe shall not make haste. Isaiah (42:13) says- The Lord shall go forth as A Mighty Man.
Isaiah (42:16) says - And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not: I will lead them in paths that they knew not: I will make darkness light before them , and the crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. In The Book of Daniel (7:9) - I beheld till the thrones were cast down and The Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His Throne was like the fiery flame and His wheels as burning fire.
Daniel 10:(5-6) Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: 6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. Parallel to Rev. (1:13-15) and it states - And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto The Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. Vs.14 His Head and His hairs were white like wool as white as snow, and His eyes were as a flame of fire: And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters.
John (1:34) says - I saw, and bare record that this is The Son of God in (vs.36) John said - And looking upon Jesus as He walked, he says - Behold The Lamb of God! In Matthew (1:20-21) The Lord spoke to Joseph saying Joseph, Thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife. For that which is conceived in her is of The Holy Ghost, and she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name Jesus: for He shall save his people from their sins.
John (6:35) Jesus said - I Am The Bread of Life he that cometh to me shall never hunger: he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John (6:51) Jesus said - I Am The Living Bread which cometh down from heaven: If any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever and the bread that I will give is my flesh which I will give for the life of the world. The Bread of Life means - a source of spiritual nourishment for Which is what Jesus will feed us through His Holy Spirit after His death and Resurrection for He is The Resurrection.
John (11:25) Jesus said to Martha after the death of Lazarus - I Am the resurrection, and the life: he that believe in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. John (8:56) Jesus said to the Pharisees - Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it and was glad. (Vs. 57) Then the Pharisees said unto Him, Thou art not yet fifty years old and hast thou seen Abraham? (Vs.58) Jesus said unto them - Verily Verily I say unto you, before Abraham was, I AM.
Exodus (3:13) - Moses said unto God - Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them - The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you, and they shall say to me, what is his named (3:14) - And God said unto Moses - I Am That I Am. And He said - Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel - I Am hath sent me unto you. Exodus (6:2) - And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him,
I Am The Lord (6:3) And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by The Name God Almighty (Heb. translation El Shaddai), but my name Jehovah which means - (I Am That I Am) was I not know to them. So when I Looked up The Word ( I ) - is a pronoun that is used as the subject of a verb to refer to a person speaking or writing. And the word Am is a verb, and is a form of the word be and be means - Exist. The synonyms for this word are having Being, Have existence, be alive, have life, breathe, draw breath, That’s Why Jehovah is called Supreme Being which means I AM.
John (10:9) Jesus says - I Am (I Be) the door: by me if any man enter in he shall be saved and shall go in, and out and find pasture. John (10:10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I AM come that they might have life, and they might have it more abundantly. John (10:11) Jesus says- I Am (I Be)The Good Shepherd the good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. John (11:25) Jesus says - I Am - (I Be) The Resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
Matthew (16:13-17) When Jesus came into the coast of Caesarea Philippi, He asks His disciples, saying - Whom do men say that I The Son of man Am? And they said, some say that thou art John The Baptist: some, Elias: and others Jeremias of one of the prophets. (Vs. 15) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I Am (I Be)? And Peter answered and said - Thou art The Christ, The Son of The Living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are thou Simon Barjona! For flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee but my Father which is in heaven.
Now we will go to John (10:24-30) Then came The Jews round about Him and said unto Him - How long do thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them - I told you, and ye believed not: the works I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me, (Vs26) But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you (Vs.27) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. (Vs.29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. (Vs.30) I and My Father Are One.
John 8:56-58 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I Am. Matthew (28:18-19) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying - All power is given unto me in Heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Ghost. Ephesians (4:5) One Lord, One Faith,One Baptism.
1 John (5:5-8) Who is He that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is The Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is The Spirit that Beareth witness, because The Spirit is Truth. For there are Three that bear record in heaven, The Father, The Word (which is Jesus), and The Holy Ghost: and These Three Are One. And there are Three that bear witness in earth, The Spirit, and The Water, and The Blood: and these three agree in one.
