Silence Is Not an Option
To those who share my heritage, my history, and my bloodline:
I am a descendant of enslaved people. My ancestors endured chains, cruelty, and centuries of dehumanization. They survived so that I could speak. So I will.
I watch in disbelief as the leader some of you support attempts to erase the truth of our past—ordering the removal of slavery exhibits from national parks, museums, and public spaces. This happened after he called for restoring the statues of Confederate Soldiers. And I ask you: What does it profit a person to gain political favor, yet lose the soul of their history?
To sit silently while the atrocities our ancestors endured are whitewashed is not neutrality—it is betrayal. It is a betrayal of every lash our ancestors encountered , every stolen child never returned to parents, every prayer whispered in the dark. It is a betrayal of Harriet’s courage, Frederick’s voice, Dr. King’s dream, and the countless unnamed who died so we could live free.
If you voted for this leader, you have every right to your political beliefs. But you also have a responsibility—to Truth, to Legacy, to Justice. You cannot claim pride in your heritage while allowing its erasure. You cannot honor your ancestors while ignoring their suffering.
Dr. King once said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” This matters.
I call on you now: Speak up. Stand up. Push back. Let your voice be louder than your loyalty. Let your conscience be stronger than your silence.
These Three were the voices of History and FREEDOM!!!
in Rev 7:9-17
Revelation 7:9-17 describes John's vision of an innumerable, diverse multitude standing before God's throne and the Lamb. Clothed in white robes and holding palm branches, they proclaim that salvation belongs to God and the Lamb. An elder explains that these are people who have endured the Great Tribulation, washed their robes in the Lamb's blood, and now serve God in His temple. The Lamb will shepherd them to living water springs, and God will comfort them by wiping away all their tears.
